Eighteen trim patterns, fourteen places, and only one that drops from a mob

Trail Ruins gives four of the eighteen. Tide is the only pattern that is not loot. And duplicating a template is a crafting table, not a smithing one — with two exceptions.

A map pixel is one byte, and two of its bits are brightness

61 base colours × 4 shades = 244 colours from a 16,384-byte array. Only one of the four shades is the block's real colour; the other three are darkened to 86%, 71% and 53%.

Only the head is a cube — every other papercraft part is three different rectangles

Painting sizes: 34 of the 51 are square, and only 5 are taller than they are wide

51 paintings across 9 sizes, needing 321 blocks of wall to hang them all. A 1-wide, 2-tall gap fits exactly three of them — and five paintings credit no artist at all.

The extension does not tell you the schematic format — 31 of 33 .schematic files were something else's guess

Five formats, four different ways of packing blocks, and .schematic is shared by two of them. Sniffing the NBT root beats trusting the filename, with counted evidence.

Three gunpowder is not three times one gunpowder — it is 1.67×

A rocket's boost is 10 × (2 + flight duration) ticks, and that free +2 is why tripling the gunpowder only adds two thirds more distance. The full table, in blocks.
