How the finder decides

Every seed is generated here in your browser, by the same cubiomes engine that draws the Seed Map, and nothing is sent anywhere. A seed is listed only when every condition holds for it, and each fact under it is a place you can open on the map to see for yourself.

Biomes are sampled on a grid inside the radius, every 16 blocks unless you choose otherwise. A patch narrower than the step can fall between two samples, so a finer step finds more and runs slower. Surface biomes are read above the terrain; pick Underground or Deep to look for lush caves, dripstone caves or the deep dark.

Structures are the positions the game's placement rules and biome checks predict, which are the same markers the Seed Map draws. Village types and abandoned villages are worked out the way the game rolls them. Desert pyramids, jungle temples and woodland mansions can still fail to appear where the ground at their corners lies below sea level.

Terrain height and flat area use cubiomes' surface estimate, taken every 4 blocks. It follows the broad shape of the land and knows nothing of trees, rivers, caves or the exact block, so treat those results as a shortlist and look at the spot before you build.

The spawn is the estimate the Seed Map also marks, the point where the game starts looking. The game then moves to the nearest block a player can stand on, so the spawn you get in a new world can be a short way off.

Java 26.3 added the dappled forest and abandoned camps, which the engine cannot generate yet. A 26.3 search runs the 26.2 generator: the rest of the world matches, but areas where dappled forest replaced another forest will differ. Java 1.18 and 1.19 are searched with their own rules but open on the Seed Map's 1.20 layer, which draws cherry groves those versions do not have, and mangrove swamps that 1.18 does not have either.
